Obituary

Norbert Gene Doll, 86, went to Heaven on January 18, 2026 at his home. A come and go viewing will begin at noon on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in Glencoe, with burial following in the Lawson Cemetery in Yale. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Norbert was born on June 12, 1939, to Carl and Gertrude "Gertie" (Pettit) Doll on the family homestead west of Yale. He attended Quay Public Schools and graduated in 1957. On November 11, 1960, he married the love of his life, Katherine Alice Wilkinson, in Pawnee. Together they were blessed with three children, Deidre, James, and Audra, and raised their family south of Glencoe.

Norbert dedicated 25 years of service to the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier in Stillwater. He also served his community as a member of the Glencoe Board of Education for 10 years. A lifelong car enthusiast, Norbert collected and sold 1954, 1955, and 1956 Crown Victoria automobiles and parts for many years, traveling to swap meets across the United States. He was a devoted member of the National Crown Victoria Association for 47 years and served as a regional director.

Norbert was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Glencoe for 56 years and was ordained as a deacon in 1970.

Norbert is preceded in death by his parents; wife Katherine; his daughter, Deidre "DeeDee"; his brothers Kenneth, Wayne, and Orville Doll.

He is survived by his children, James Doll of Stillwater, Audra Parmley and her husband Michael of Glencoe; sister-in-law Linda Wilkinson Brim of Pawnee; grandchildren, Hiliary Shanks Jordan and her husband Brian of Greeley, Colorado, John Shanks and Victoria Shanks of Tulsa; great-granddaughter Josie Clark; sister-in-law Myra Doll of Tulsa as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Glencoe First Baptist Church music ministry or to the Oklahoma Baptist Children ministry.
