Alexandra, with her son, Alex, were faithful members of St. James Orthodox Church when Alex was completing his PhD. at OSU. Although she could not speak English, she spoke with her eyes, her heart and the kind words as interpreted by her son. Although they left us for a life in Florida, Alex has chosen to have her (and his) final resting place at Fairlawn Cemetery. Here is his tribute: "Dear Fr. Mark, this is something about my mom: slave of God Alexandra Tovstolis: I have always had a very special blessing from our Lord - to have the best mom in this world. Extremely smart, educated, beautiful, loving, carrying, and helping all the people around showing me how a real Christian should live. For 25+ years she was the Head of Planning Department (a.k.a. CFO) of a huge state building company which built half our our city Donetsk (1M+ population) and Ugledar. Despite being overwhelmed with her duties, she always took great care of our family, especially about me - helping me to learn stuff, to develop, to get stronger, daily chores, and taking care of her parents - Ivan and Natalya. I don't know how all that had been done by just one person - my beloved mom. When Ukraine got independence in 1991, it's Pension Fund was established, and my mom became the first Head of a regional branch. At that time, companies filed quarterly reports on paper, they were verified by the Pension Fund employees and entered to computer system. This lead to long queues of people coming and waiting for their slot. Almost always, when working hours were over (5:30 pm I think), my mom let all the staff go home and was accepting reports on her own till the last visitor). I was a witness of this. We often went home between 9 and 10 pm during those reporting periods. Have you ever seen a government employee, department head, doing this? This is who my mom is. As her mom Natalya, my mom Alexandra had always been helping people around and keeping her faith strong. Everything that is good in me is because of her. 100%. She has always been my strength, encouragement, joy, and bright light in my life. I call her My Sunny, which reflects who she is and will always be. May God keep my mom's soul in His Heavenly Kingdom! Mom, I will always love you and keep the promises I gave you. Memory Eternal! Dear Brothers and sisters in Christ, please pray for my mom. May God bless you and your families and be with you always! Yours in Christ, Alexander Tovstolis
