Patricia Wanger's Obituary
Patty Wanger, 64, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 6, 2023, at her home in Stillwater, surrounded by her family. She fought the good fight; she finished the race; she kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7). A private graveside service will be held for her family at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
Patty was born to Milton and Mona Highberger in August 1958 in Greensburg, Kansas. She attended elementary school at Straight, Oklahoma then attended and graduated high school in Hooker, Oklahoma.
In 1983, Patty began a successful career with the USDA (Farm Service Agency) that spanned more than three decades and included positions in Guymon, OK; Kansas City; Washington, D.C.; and Stillwater, OK.
Patty deeply and fiercely loved her family and always enjoyed getting everyone together, especially on the holidays and OSU Homecoming. She loved traveling with her husband, Rod, as well as their close friends. Her greatest blessings called her Mom or Nana, and she was their hero. Patty also appreciated the special and unbreakable bond she had with her sister, Jill.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Rod Wanger; her parents, Milton and Mona Highberger; and her brother, Mike Highberger.
She is survived by her children: Kyle Crawford of Morrison, OK; Cade and Amy Crawford of Stillwater, OK; and Josh and Lacey Bixler of Oklahoma City, OK; her grandchildren: Braylee Crawford, Josie Crawford, Hadlee Crawford, Sam Crawford, Dawson Crawford, Emery Crawford, Townes Bixler, and Vivian Bixler. She is also survived by her sister Jill Pollart (Andy) of Pueblo, CO; brother Tim Highberger (Edna) of Hooker, OK; brother Joe Highberger (Desiree) of Enid, OK; and many friends and extended family.
The family requests those wishing to honor Patty's memory do so by making contributions in her name to one of the following: St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (Stained Glass Window Fund) 711 N.
