Patsy Ruth (Johnson) Shinault, age 89 of Stillwater, Oklahoma went on to be with her Lord & Savior the morning of December 20, 2025. Public Viewing for Patsy Shinault will be Friday, January 2, 2026 at Strode Funeral Home, Stillwater, from 4-6p.m.; Homegoing Service will be Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Mt. Zion Baptist church in Stillwater, Oklahoma, at noon. Interment will immediately follow at Clearview Cemetery, Chandler, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.


Patsy was born January 21, 1936 in Carney, Oklahoma to Wallace Johnson Sr. & Julia (Hightower) Johnson. Patsy attended Carney Public School and graduated in 1948. Patsy played basketball and won several trophies for running track for the Carney Bulldogs. Patsy married Reverend Charles E. Shinault, and they were married over 52 years until his death in 2020. Patsy loved the Lord and her church; she was a very faithful and active member of Mt. Zion Baptist church.

Patsy served for over 30 years as President of the Usher Board, also as usher for the Progressive, National, Regional and State Conventions. Patsy worked at Stillwater Laundry & Cleaners 15 years as a shirt presser and Front Lead Attendant. Patsy later went to work at Oklahoma State University in the Extension Duplicating office as Print Press Operator 2, for the next 18 years until she took early retirement due to health issues arthritis in her legs.


Patsy was preceded in death by her father Wallace Johnson Sr., mother Julia Mae Johnson, husband Reverend Charles E. Shinault, son Airman Larry E. Battles, 3 brothers Wallace Johnson Jr., Eddie Johnson, and Charles Johnson, 2 sisters Darlene Lowe and Deloise Lowe, niece Doris Lowe-Dunn.


Patsy leaves to cherish her memory her sister Billie Johnson, Stillwater Ok; 2 brothers, Kenneth Johnson of Perkins, and Donald Johnson of Stillwater; her special sister/friend Edna Finley; nieces & nephews Darla Lowe, Yvonne Thomas, Ralph Lowe Jr., Darriel Johnson, Brandon Killough, Donnie Johnson Jr., Randall Johnson, Isaiah Strickland and a host of grand nieces, grand nephews and friends.
