Paula Elizabeth Miller, 83, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2023 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will begin 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at the Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater with burial at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, Oklahoma at a later date.
Paula was born September 7, 1940 to Paul and Oleta Jones in Ada, Oklahoma. Paula was a Harding High School of Oklahoma City graduate and worked in several administrative positions throughout her life. Her favorite and most cherished position she held was that of a mother and homemaker.
Paula married James A Waltermire on June 20, 1965. Paula and James moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1975 where they raised four children together.
Paula married David B Miller on April 25, 1998. She gained two beautiful step daughters and remained married until her death.
Paula was an exceptional cook, painter, and piano player. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and crossword puzzles (especially the puzzle on Fridays in the Dailey Oklahoman as the puzzles progressively became more difficult by the end of the week). Paula had a great love of music and live performance. Paula was an active member of P.E.O. Chapter LP of Stillwater, Oklahoma where she took several leadership roles and enormous pride in helping to further the support and education of young women.
She was predeceased by both parents and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
She is survived by David B Miller of the home. Son and daughter in law, Robert and Rosemary Waltermire; daughter and son in law, Elizabeth and Tommy Jones; son Michael Waltermire; and daughter and son in law, Sarah and Adam Hasenmyer. Step daughter and step son in law, Kara and Ryan Ritchie; and step daughter, Katie Schaeffer. Granddaughters, Sidney Hasenmyer, Sallie Hasenmyer, Brooke Waltermire, Bailey Ritchie, Grace Ritchie. Grandsons Charlie Ritchie, Sawyer Schaeffer, Griffin Schaeffer.
In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests donations to be made to Friends of Music at Oklahoma State University or Tiny Paws of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
