Retha Faye Potter passed away on December 16, 2024, in Stillwater, OK. Retha was born on May 15, 1943, to Charles Buford Quick and Margaret Wilson Quick in Colcord, Oklahoma. She married Marvin D. "Pete" Potter on February 8, 1959, and they made their home in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Retha loved animals, flowers, feeding and watching the birds, and making bird houses with Pete. They traveled through all 50 states and had many pictures of their travels in their home. Retha was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pawhuska and always enjoyed Bible study with her friends.
Retha was preceded in death by her husband, Pete, both of her parents, her sister Ruth Russell and her husband Jim, her two brothers Lloyd Quick and Doyle Quick.
Retha is survived by her three children, Elizabeth and husband Greg Hembree of Pawhuska, Susan Chamblee of Stillwater, and Les and his wife Leslie Lynn Potter of Pawhuska. Retha is also survived by her six grandchildren, Tyler Hembree and his wife Heather, Morgan Weigant and her husband Stephen, Jason Chamblee and his wife Mary, Dalton Chamblee and his wife Lindsay, Derek Potter and his wife Hattie, Kacie Morris and her husband Michael. Retha has fourteen great-grandchildren, Luke and Joshua Hembree, Frantz and Waite Weigant, Elliott Chamblee, Olive, Wyatt and Gracie Chamblee, Hayes, Caulyer, Elyza, and Ladd Potter, Lexi and Myla Morris. She is also survived by her beloved pets Puppers and Veronica.
A family burial in the Pawhuska Cemetery will be scheduled in early January. Memorials may be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
