Royce Gene Herndon, 80, passed away from Parkinson's Disease August 2, 2024. No services will be scheduled.

Royce was born to his proud parents, John Roy and Velma Jean (Wynn) Herndon on February 13, 1944 in Oklahoma City. He spent most of his life in Stillwater, and was a 1962 graduate of Stillwater High School. Royce went on to Oklahoma State University before he was drafted to the Vietnam War, delaying college. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1968. After graduation he worked as a Social Worker for the State of Oklahoma until his retirement. He was baptized at the Stillwater Church of Christ, Duck and McElroy which he attended for years.

Royce is predeceased by his beloved parents.

He is survived by his sister Regina Herndon; only niece Kelly Jean (Chrislip) O'Shea and husband Phillip; great niece Paige O'Shea Waterfield and husband Taylor and their children, Lila, Payton, and Grace; great nephews Dylan O' Shea and Chris O'Shea as well as his children Charles and Charlotte. He has many close and beloved cousins on the Herndon side of the family from Powell, Oklahoma. He also has cousins he enjoyed meeting at the Wynn family reunions from his mother's side in Carpenter, Oklahoma.
