Samuel Beasley Jefferson, age 67, of Perry, died Friday, February 2, 2024 at Stillwater Medical Center surrounded by his family. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Goodland United Methodist Church, Honey Grove Community with officiant Matt Jefferson. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
Samuel was born to Leo Willmon and Clara Ruth (Noah) Jefferson on July 4, 1956 in Talihina, Oklahoma. He received his high school diploma from Hartshorne High School. Samuel was a construction worker who was employed by Wittwer Construction. On June 5, 1976 he married Linda Battiest in Broken Bow.
Samuel loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a jack of all trades and his hobbies included carpentry and working on cars. He loved to grill and cook for his family and he took great pride in the love he put into his food. He was a great mentor to all his nephews and nieces and was always willing to show them how to hunt, fish, and cook. He was a very selfless man and would do anything to help out or be there in any way he could.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Clara Ruth Jefferson, David "Doy" Jefferson, Leo Boyd Jefferson, and Cillin Ward.
Members of his family include his wife Linda Jefferson; daughters Angie Jefferson and Bernadine Talawyma and husband Jason; grandchildren Jazmine Jefferson, Sienna Wathen, Samuel Wathen, Mia Talawyma, Tyler Talawyma, Ari Medicine Crow, and Delvin Medicine Crow; great grand child Ellyus Farmer; siblings Jackie Anna, Reba Pope, Joe Jefferson, James "Wally" Jefferson, Timothy Jefferson, Don Jefferson, and Matt Jefferson.
Honorary pallbears will be Clint Jefferson, Todd Wesley, Tyler Talawyma, Samuel Wathen, Chris Marlow, Jason Talawyma, Joe Jefferson, Don Jefferson, Timothy Jefferson, Clint Hughes, Matt Jefferson, James "Wally" Jefferson, Xavier Walker, Elijah Yanez, Kodah Yanez, Sylvester "Bubba" Yanez, Coleman Jefferson, and Polo Turrubiartes.
