Obituary

Sandra (Sandy) Rae (Nicholson) Evans, 82, passed October 12, 2025. A memorial service to celebrate Sandy's life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Solid Rock Church. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.


Sandy was born July 10, 1943 to Robert and Juanita (Cable) Nicholson in Pawnee, Oklahoma. When Sandy was age 15 her mother married Jack Alexander. The family moved to Cushing where Sandy finished her high school education. Sandy worked at OSU for many years and retired from Oklahoma State University where she worked as a financial assistant.


Sandy is preceded in death by both parents, one brother Leonard and stepfather Jack; Grandchildren Danielle Rae Johns, Brian Neal Kimbrel, and Brendan Parker Campbell.


She is survived by her husband Jerry Evans of Stillwater; daughters, Lisa Fry and her husband David, Carolyn Johns, Lea Riff and husband Don and sister LaVeta Green and husband Richard; Grandchildren include Trevor Fry and wife Stephanie, Tara Webb and husband Zach, Whitley Campbell and husband Daniel, Fowler Hata and husband Ryosuke, Elizabeth Mick and husband Tyler, Jessalyn Parr and husband Malachi, and Jared Politte and fiancé MaKayla Leiker, Garrett and Jocelyn Riff; Great grandchildren include Lucas and Easton Fry, Cooper and Carly Webb, Symphonie, Lyrik, Kanon and Kohen Campbell, Kaya, Alyss, and Rayna Hata, James Oliver Mick, Lacey, Mariah, Delilah, and Natalie Parr. Isla and Kai Riff.


She is also survived by stepdaughters, Carol Goodson, Vicky Hall, and Penny Allen. Grandchildren include Rhiannon Staiger, Ciara Davis and husband Tyler, Alexus Bell and husband Zach, Hope Patterson, Brad Hall, Amber Riddles and husband Chris, Mckenzie Richmond and husband Jonny. Great grandchildren include Addyson, Ava, and Aiden Davis, Skylah and Suttyn Bell, Luxton Crain and Letty Rouse, Braden and Grant Hall, Lyle Lippe and Hailey Riddles. Sandy is also survived by many nieces, nephews and greats.
