Obituary

Sharon Fay Robinson, a woman whose undeniable faith and deep love for the Lord were the foundation of her life, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026 in Stillwater, Oklahoma surrounded by her loved ones. A reception for friends and family will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Mehan Union Church in Stillwater with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. in the Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Sharon grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1966. She met the love of her life, Lawrence Robinson, in choir, and they married that same year.

Sharon was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed entering items in the county fair and bringing home ribbons, picking pecans, gardening, and volunteering. One of her greatest joys was serving as a host parent and foreign exchange community coordinator for 10 years, helping place more than 100 students in schools across the state-many of whom became like family.

After Lawrence retired from Mercury Marine, they became Mini Cooper enthusiasts, joining a local club, attending car shows, and traveling on Mini Cooper cruises across the country.

Sharon had a special gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her kindness, strength, and fun, quirky spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She never worried about how she was "supposed to be"-she was simply Sharon.

Sharon is survived by her sons, Morgan Robinson of Houston, Texas, and Michael Robinson and his wife, Megan, of Stillwater, her daughter, LaKira Robinson of Stillwater; and her three grandchildren, Chisel, Wesley, and Katie Robinson. She is also survived by her loving sister, Laquita Mitchell, who provided exceptional care during Sharon's four-year battle with Parkinson's disease and brother Garland Mitchell, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Robinson, her daughter, Lacey Robinson, sister Betty Dunsworth, and brothers Dean Mitchell and Slick Mitchell.
