Shelly Diane Fitzpatrick, age 59, died Friday, June 9, 2023 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Stillwater Church of Christ with burial following in Fairlawn Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.


Shelly was born to Gilbert and Rosetta Rose on October 15, 1963 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was raised in Stillwater and graduated from Stillwater High School. She started her long-time career with Oklahoma State University in the library in 1981, and then transitioned to the health service building. She continued to work at OSU as a conference coordinator where she was able to travel all over the United States. To complete her 30+ years at OSU she was an Administrative Assistant at the Payne County Extension office. Shelly married John "Mike" Aguilar in 1983, she and Mike were high school sweethearts and once married added a beautiful daughter to their family. After their divorce in 1989 she married Paul "Michael" Fitzpatrick in 1991. She and Paul had three children together and loved each other very much during their relationship. They divorced later but continued to have a love and understanding as parents together.


Shelly's family was a huge part of her life. Many people recognize her for the mother she was to her children. They all had a deep connection that was not only beautiful but untouched by the outside world. The family was always celebrating events together. The memories made around her parent's kitchen table were cherished and enjoyed by all. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were a big part of her life, and had all grown up sitting around that exact kitchen table. Shelly's heart of Gold made it easy to love her. Her laugh and smile were contagious and appreciated by so many loved ones and friends.


Shelly prayed every day and believed deeply in the power of prayer. She gained her beliefs from her wonderful parents and family, and then instilled those same beliefs in her own family.


Members of her family include her parents Gilbert and Rosetta Rose; her sons Paul "Garrett" Fitzpatrick and Logan Fitzpatrick; her daughters Kylee Pastrana and Shelby Fitzpatrick; her grandchildren RiLynn Rose Lunsford and Isabel Diane Pastrana; sisters Debbie Lane and husband Rick, and Brenda Morton and husband Gary.


Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Morton, Justin Morton, Jessie Wood, Braden Wood, Marcus Barker and Ryan Phillips. Honorary pallbearers are Paul "Garrett" Fitzpatrick and Logan Fitzpatrick.


The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of their loved ones and friends for the love, support, and prayers they have received.
