Stella Arvizo, age 83, of Stillwater, was born July 5, 1941 and joined her Lord and Savior August 14, 2024. Stella was born in Edmonton Alberta Canada, and later the family moved to Hamilton Ontario Canada and was the second of three daughters born to Stanley and Mary (Baren) Dawiskiba. She married Teodoro "Ted" Arvizo, Jr. on March 29, 1974 in Asunción, Paraguay. They remained married until his death on June 6, 1996. From this marriage they had two sons, Teodoro "Tresi" Arvizo III and Christian Arvizo.

Stella had a life-long love of travel and visited well over 100 plus countries. She met her husband while on holiday in South America at the Poroy Train Station in Cusco Peru. "Ted" assisted her with making reservations for a ride to one of the few major pre-Columbian ruins found nearly intact Machu Picchu. After they were married they live in Paraguay for a little over four years before moving to Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Stella worked at Stillwater Medical Center as a switchboard operator for over twenty years, and retired from this position in 2007. Not being satisfied with retirement she decided to peruse her passion of traveling the world visiting friends and family.

Stella was a proud member of the Alzheimer's Association in which she was able to assist families that had love ones who were starting to show signs of having dementia. She was a proud Canadian, but remained a resident of Oklahoma for the last 46 years of her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ted Arvizo.

She is survived by her sons Tresi Arvizo and Christian Arvizo and wife Chandra; grandchildren Kaylee McWhorter, Blake McWhorter, and Xavier Arvizo; and sister Diane Kantowski and husband Edward.

The family would like to thank specifically Heather and Debbie in the Memory Care unit at Legacy Village, as well as Angela with Karman Legacy Hospice for their diligent and impeccable care in keeping Stella comfortable during her stay at Legacy Village.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Legacy Village of Stillwater Chapel. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
