Tamara Erin Hurd, age 41, died unexpectedly August 14, 2023. A private memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 2425 E. 104th St. in Perkins.


Tamara was born March 23, 1982 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of Perry W. and Deborah R. Orton.


Tamara graduated from Palmer High School, in 2000. She attended the University of Northern Colorado for Drama/Music studies. Later, Tamara attended Denver University and graduated in 2016 with a BA in Law Studies. She went on to attend Oklahoma City University School of Law and graduated in 2019.


Tamara worked in Logan and Kingfisher counties of Oklahoma as an Assistant District Attorney. Tamara started her own firm, Hurd Legal Service, in early 2023.


Tamara married Thayne Hurd on August 1, 2012. They have four children whose names are Jaxon James-10 years old, Kacee Grace -8 years old, TJ Hunter-6 years old, and Rylee Rae-3 years old.


Tamara was preceded in death by her grandmother Doris Orton, grandfather Alvis Orton, grandmother Ethelyn Hutchins, and grandfather Earl Hutchins.


She is survived by her husband Thayne and children Jaxon, Kacee, TJ, and Rylee; her sister Nicole Foster and husband Jayson; her nephew Matthew Stanley and her parents Perry and Deborah Orton.


Tamara loved the outdoors. She loved to play golf, run, ride bikes, and fish with her children.
