Terry Scott Stewart, 72, born April 8, 1952 to Marvin Monroe and Bernadine Faye (Allman) Stewart in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away October 22, 2024. A celebration of Terry's life will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2024 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel.
Renowned for his kindness, humor, and steadfast support, Terry was fortunate to grow up in a nurturing Christian household. He graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1970, where he excelled in sports such as basketball and baseball. He was also an active member of the band.
After high school, Terry attended Central State College before embarking on a career as a trim carpenter in the Oklahoma City area. In 1989, he relocated to Stillwater, where he continued his craft and founded Accurate Woodworks in 1994, specializing in custom cabinet design and construction.
A successful entrepreneur, Terry felt a deep calling to give back to his community. In pursuit of this mission, he earned a bachelor's degree in education as a non-traditional student at Oklahoma State University in 2004. Following his graduation, he dedicated himself to shaping young minds as a high school History and Social Studies teacher until his retirement in 2007.
On March 8, 1985, Terry married his beloved wife, Sally Blankenship, in Oklahoma City. Together, they cultivated a warm and joyful home filled with laughter.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Mark and Wayne Stewart.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Jan Stewart; their five children and their spouses, Jennifer and Chris Ford, Whitney and Brad Scherff, Kristi and Von Bennett, Silas and Bethany Stewart, and Mahalah and Roy Donaldson. He is also cherished by five grandchildren, Amanda Whitmill, Izaiah Bennett, Sutton Stewart, Marvin Donaldson, and Mahalah Donaldson.
