On Monday, February 26, 2024, Theresa Rose Meyer passed away peacefully in Stillwater at the age of 88. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stillwater. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home and Cremation.


Theresa was born on August 16, 1935 to John and Mary (Melcher) Mendel in Okarche, Oklahoma, where she was raised. She attended and graduated from Okarche Catholic Schools.


In 1959, she married Victor Henry Meyer, the love of her life. They moved to Perry, Oklahoma and started their family. Eventually, Theresa and Vic moved the family to their farm in Morrison, Oklahoma, where they worked together gardening, raising livestock and growing crops. They raised a son, David, and a daughter, Ann. Theresa had a deep love for her family and was proud of each and every one of them. She enjoyed watching EWTN and Hallmark Christmas movies, playing bingo, singing and family dinner on Sundays.


Theresa was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. This faith sustained her throughout her entire life. Her warm smile and kind, compassionate personality touched the lives of her family and friends. We will miss her dearly and will love her forever more.


She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor, parents, John and Mary Mendel, brothers, Tony and Martin Mendel, sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Kuehn and Louise Kastl.


Left to cherish her memory is her son, David Meyer and wife, Raeann; daughter, Ann Patterson and husband, Dan; grandchildren, Lauren and Bret Patterson; sister, Mary Sigl and husband, Gerald.


The family would like to extend a special thank you to Karman Legacy Hospice and the nurses at Stillwater Medical Center for all the support and compassionate care they gave during Theresa's stay.
