Thomas (Tommy) L Gant went to his eternal home on February 1, 2024 in Tulsa. Services will begin 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Glencoe Church of Christ, Glencoe, Oklahoma, with Pastor Curt Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Eden Chapel Cemetery, Perkins, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.

He was born February 27, 1937 to Roy and Gladys (NIchols) Gant in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. He married Freddie Jones May 17, 1957 in Glencoe. He attended Eureka High School, Glencoe. He worked for Bryan Motors in Stillwater for many years and transferred to OSU Motor Pool where he retired in 1999 after 30 years. He was a member of the Sunnybrook Christian Church in Stillwater and the Glencoe Church of Christ.

Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Freddie, his parents, daughter Loretta (Gant) Schauer.

He is survived by his life partner Elizabeth McLain; son Larry Gant; step-son Barry McLain; sister Linda and husband Wayne Noehren; grandchildren Tim Gant, Chris Gant, Josh Gant and wife Monica, Dalynn and husband Felix Pair, Adam Burrell, Josh Burrell, Cheri Tully; great-grandchildren Alexi Gant, Tristan Gant, Kevin Gant, Leah Burrell, Raelin Burrell, Xaedin Burrell, Deliah Burrell and many nieces and nephews.

Tommy was well known for his big gardens every year that he generously shared with neighbors, friends and church members. He was a mechanic who could fix anything from sunglasses to cars, tractors, mowers and everything in between. He always made sure his son and grandsons had cars to drive. He always had a smile and kind words to everyone he met. Tommy and Elizabeth loved flowers and working in the garden and watching the Thunder and OSU Cowboys and having family every Thanksgiving and Christmas.
