He was born February 4, 1950, in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Josephine Roubidoux. He attended Perkins Public Schools and graduated in 1967 where he was a standout member of the high school football team, the team's quarterback. He then went on a track scholarship.
In 1970 Victor enlisted in the U. S. Army. He completed 2 tours in Vietnam during the war. He finished his service as an elite member of the "Rangers. For his service, Victor was awarded the prestigious Bronze star with a V (for Valor).
He worked in Oklahoma in the oil fields and in construction. He owned and operated Vic's 21 club in Stillwater, during the late 1970's, where he met and fostered the career of many up-and-coming musicians. After successful recording careers several remain close friends to this date.
His son, Gary Robert Roubidoux was born in 1983 to Victor and Kyle King Roubidoux. As a proud Ioway member, Vic chose to begin his career in 1989 with the Ioway Tribe as their Construction Manager. Victor met fellow tribal member and co-worker Lisa Lincoln which began as sage that lasted 37 years including 33 year of marriage.
In 1991 Vic was elected as Tribal Treasurer, a position he held for the next 13 years. In 2003 Victor was inspired by a Tulsa news report of wildlife rehabbers who had to drive a rehabilitated injured eagle to Zuni, New Mexico to receive permanent housing Victor began his passionate endeavor to build an Eagle Aviary to rehabilitate injured eagles for release and give permanent homes to unreleasable birds that could not survive in the wild due to their injuries. This dream of Vic's along with years of effort by many participants resulted in the Nationally Known Grey Snow Eagle House; and Eagle Rescue-Research, Sanctuary, and Education Facility that turned 20 years old in 2025 and continues today.
Victor and Lisa spent many adventurous and fun-filled days and nights traveling the United States following favorite musicians and bands and responding to midnight calls to retrieve injured eagles.
Vic was proud to live on his family property of many years and took pride in being a good steward of the land. He continued to make many improvements over the years. Although Vic was full of life and wonderful storyteller himself, everyone who knew and loved him has a favorite Vic story to share. He was a well-respected member of the community and will be greatly missed.
Although he had many accomplishments in his life that benefited his community, if asked how he saw himself, Vic would say, like a favorite song of his, that he was just Simple Kind of Man.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family request that memorial contributions be made to Grey Snow Eagle House.
