Obituary

Perkins resident William Wayne Allen, 95, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2025 at the First Christian Church in Perkins. Interment will follow in Carney Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

William Wayne Allen was born March 23, 1930 to George Thomas and Adeline (Ellis) Allen in Wellston, Oklahoma. He attended Wellston schools until the 8th grade then Perkins where he graduated. On June 5, 1949 he married Geraldine Lacy in Perkins, Oklahoma. He worked as a farmer, rancher, truck driver, oversize escort driver, and an insurance agent for Farmers Union. Mr. Allen was a member of the First Christian Church in Perkins where he served as a Deacon, served as Vice President in American Agriculture, Founder of Cimarron Valley COOP, and led the way to initiate the Farm Crisis Hot Line which evolved into Farm Aid. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, and playing cards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gearldine, a daughter Janice Marie, two sisters, Melba Allen Chandler and Jessie Allen Stelte; two brothers, George E Allen (Bud) and Robert Allen (Bob).

Survivors include his three daughters, Janet Price and husband Ricky Duncan of Tryon, Oklahoma, Anita Bolay and husband Danny of Perry, Oklahoma, and Billie Lukinbill and husband Leroy of Lexington, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Alyshea Lara and Jason Lara of Perkins, Clayton Sleeger of Lucien, Oklahoma, Addie Sleeger of Wichita, Kansas, and Cody Branson of Tacoma, Washington, and four great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jason Lara, Clayton Sleeger, Cody Branson, Laken Murray, Kaleb Loomis, Scott Allen, and Joe Stelte. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Matlock, Ted Riddle, and Max Glen.

The family would like to thank everyone for their continued love and support.
