Obituary

Then Jesus said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men" Mark 1:17.

A visitation for Bill will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00p.m., Friday, March 28, 2025 at Strode Funeral Home. A graveside service will begin at 2:00 p.m. March 29, 2025 at Morrison Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Born February 27, 1967 to Donald and June Farris, Bill Farris was born a fighter. From infant sleep apnea, to leg braces as a toddler, to standing up to bullies in school, Bill proved himself strong.

He married Debra Jones March 17, 1990. The two soon had two daughters, Chelsea and Brittany. Bill put his strength and desire to help people to work when he became a registered EMT and a Deputy Sheriff for Osage County. In 2001, he suffered a debilitating injury that resulted in a lifetime of chronic pain. Instead of letting that pain become his life, he let God use him how He saw fit. He became a fisher of men.

Bill's love knew no bounds and touched everyone he met. He never knew a stranger, only brothers and sisters in Christ. Family. He was a devoted man of God whose faith was a cornerstone in his life. He became known as the "God is Cool Guy" as he spread the love of God. He created the patented "God is Cool" logo, as well as the Christian Pledge.

Bill went further and, combining his faith and rather unique sense of humor, created and brought to life an endless supply of jelly bracelets. Each bracelet sported his moniker "God is Cool" alongside a scripture that had recently touched his heart. In turn, he touched the hearts of countless people

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose love for his family knew no bounds. His greatest joy came from seeing his loved ones thrive, and he made every effort to ensure they felt supported, cherished, and cared for.

Bill was called to Heaven on March 21, 2025 after a nearly month-long battle. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Donald and June Farris, second-mom Lillian Farris, infant sister Kelly Sue Farris, uncle Alan Coats, aunt Carolyn Robertson and husband Bob Robertson, uncle Dennis Kelley, and uncle Steve Kelley.

Bill is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Debra Farris; eldest daughter Chelsea Baker, husband Caleb Baker and granddaughter Rebecca Baker; youngest daughter Brittany Crouch, significant other AJ Lalla, grandson Arthur Jeremiah Lalla, granddaughter Izora Crouch and Izora's father, son-in-law Justin Crouch; daughter Charity Revard, granddaughter McKenzie Revard, and grandson Joseph Revard; brother David Farris and wife Tammy, brother Mark Farris, former sister-in-law Pam; his aunts Sammie Coats and Debbie Kelly; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
