Willie June (Canady) Gaasch woke up in heaven on January 27, 2025. She was born on November 22, in Prague, Oklahoma to Thomas and Hattie (Smith) Canady. She attended school in Newby, Oklahoma. She married Albert Gaasch in Reno, Neveda on September 6, 1947. They lived in California, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. They settled in Sapulpa where they raised their two daughters, Dona Melisa and Sherry Lorraine.
Willie spent many years as a stay-at-home mom. She sold Avon and was so successful that the corporate office offered her a position in New York City. She declined the offer so she could take care of her girls. She later worked at Frankoma Pottery and Liberty Glass before retiring to work full-time on their farm in Bristow.
Willie loved raising a garden, planting an orchard, and raising catfish and cattle. She enjoyed canning green beans, tomatoes, and okra. Her hobbies were crocheting, embroidering, and most of all quilting. She made dozens of quilts for family and friends.
Willia and Albert moved from the farm to Arkansas City, Kansas in 1995 where they lived until Albert passed in 2007. Willie then moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma in 2023 until she passed.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Albert, her parents, Thomas and Hattie and siblings, Bonnie Whitehouse, Allie Plum, Ray Canady, Ive Rowell, George Canady, Opal Farries, Troy Canady, Genevie Richmond, and Carolyn Canady.
Willie is survived by daughters, Dona Lawson and Sherry Beach (John) of Stillwater, Oklahoma, grandsons Dr. Brad Lawson (Anne) of Stillwater, Russell Beach of Oxford, Kansas and Thomas (Tony) Beach (Fiancé Ana) of Gold Canyon, Arizona, great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Emma, and John Lawson of Stillwater and sister, Mary Wolfe.
No service will be held at this time. Willie requested a quilt show to display her many handmade quilts. Cookies and lemonade will be served. The date will be announced at a later time.
