Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is the area's most experienced "green" or "natural" burial provider, and has an exclusive relationship with "Greenhaven Cemetery", the state's only "all-green" burial cemetery.

Green Burial Allows For Flexibility

Green or Natural burial allows you to customize what your family and friends will experience.

Before the burial, the family may have a traditional or memorial service. The deceased may be embalmed, and viewing can be arranged.

The deceased is wrapped in a burial shroud and placed on a wooden burial platform; no casket or burial vault is needed.

The body is then lowered into the ground; this is called the committal service. After the committal service, the family may choose to leave the cemetery, or they may stay for the closing of the grave. The family may also participate with the filling of the grave.

Green Haven is currently Oklahoma’s only green cemetery. It is located west of Stillwater at Highway 51 and Coyle Road.
